ESSA Overview

The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) replaces No Child Left Behind (NCLB) and reauthorizes the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) of 1965. ESSA is meant to ensure that all students have equitable access to high-quality educational resources and opportunities, as well as to close educational achievement gaps.

2024-25 Title I Right to Know Letter

The Title I Right to Know Letter in accordance with the Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015, all Title I schools are required to notify parents at the beginning of each school year of their ‘Right to Know’ the professional qualifications of the student’s classroom teachers and paraprofessionals. This letter is linked below as well as posted on your parent portal at the beginning of this school year.

 

2024-25 Title I Parent and Family Engagement Policy (PFEP)

The Title I Parent and Family Engagement Policy regulations require that each school served under Title I jointly develop with and distribute to parents of participating children, a written involvement policy agreed on by the parents that describes the requirements of SEC. 1118. PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT (c) through (f) and outlined in the Title I law.
 
The Title I Parent and Family Engagement Policy is a district-wide template that is adopted by and customized by each school. Below, please find letter that was posted to your parent portal as well as the PSD Policy.

 

2024-25 Title I School Parent Compact

The Title I School Parent Compact is a written agreement between the school and the parents of children participating in Title I, Part A programs that identifies the activities that the parents, the entire school staff, and the students will undertake to share the responsibility for improved student academic achievement.
